Lukashenko: Sanctions against Belarus, Russia have boomeranged

The sanctions against Belarus and Russia have boomeranged, Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko told reporters after the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

The head of state reiterated what he had already said at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek that the process of churning out economic sanctions against Belarus and Russia by the West is beginning to fade.

"Now it is obvious to everyone that such restrictions have boomeranged. It is not those who invent the sanctions that suffer, but ordinary people and business. This is on the conscience of those who unleashed an economic war against our countries and then a proxy war with Russia by the hands of Ukrainians, and as it is already clear, to the last Ukrainian," Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
