Lukashenko speaks about efforts to restore international payments amidst sanctions

Belarus will be able to fix the problem with international payments that aroused due to the sanctions, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with representatives of the Belarusian state security bodies on 15 March, BelTA has learned.

“As I have said before, we are living in a new reality and this reality will stay with us after the completion of the operation in our dear Ukraine. Our economy will be put to the test. Yet we can overcome the sanctions. We are overcoming them,” the president said.

He noted that Belarus receives 90% of what its manufacturing industry needs from Russia. Russia is also the main sales market for Belarusian products.

“We need to handle the problem of payments. We have enough competent specialists in the National Bank and the government to solve this problem. We are working on it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
