The meeting addressed issues related to enhancing the role of the Security Council as a collective coordinating and political body in protecting the independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and constitutional order of Belarus, maintaining civil peace and harmony in the country, countering extremism and combating terrorism.
The government was instructed to prepare a draft law to amend the Belarusian laws “On Emergency” and “On Martial Law” in order to create additional conditions to prevent and neutralize the risks, challenges and threats to national security.
The draft of a new regulation on the Security Council was approved at the meeting. Once approved by decree of the head of state, the document will come into force and will be published.
