Viktor Sheiman briefed the president on the performance of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, its organizations and enterprises in 2020. The companies affiliated with the directorate posted a 50.4% growth. The proceeds from the sale of products, works and services amounted to Br2.7 billion. Added value increased 2.5 times. Labor productivity in terms of added value rose almost 2.6 times.
The agricultural sector also demonstrated solid growth, with its gross output up by 15.6% over 2019. Growth was reported in all areas, including production of grain, milk, livestock and poultry.
The output of the manufacturing sector rose by 4.6%.
Viktor Sheiman informed that the construction industry is weathering the pandemic quite well, too. Its output and net profit increased. Among its signiture projects is the construction of an open-air museum in Pripyatsky National Park. The construction project has already been completed.
The tourism industry was hit hard by the pandemic – the occupancy rates of hotels and sanatoriums dropped in 2020.
The foreign trade in goods and services of the directorate amounted to $240.8 million in 2020. The export of goods and services approached $197 million.
After hearing out the report, the head of state set the task to keep building up production and exploring new areas of work, with a focus on woodworking and the tourism industry.
By tradition, the parties also discussed cooperation with African countries. As it was reported, work is underway to set up agricultural, construction and cargo transportation companies.
