“People should be treated fairly. It is especially important today. This pertains to both you, as heads, and the government system, and the heads of administrations and district executive committees in the first place. We have to take a very careful approach to this. The ‘I do not like you – I fire you' attitude is inadmissible,” the Belarusian leader said.
“We need to tighten control over the performance of the personnel. We have to see if a deputy or someone else, even in the district executive committee, has been dismissed, we have to give an assessment to governors and chairpersons of district executive committees. If he or she deserves it, if such a person is not up to the task, if he or she is a slacker, or even worse, an enemy, then there is nothing to talk about here. If a person is falling short in something, a young specialist, does not understand something very well, has not worked hard enough, then you should work with him or her. Such specialists should give a result. And they will give the result. I am sure. You cannot just throw people away. The personnel should be treated fairly,” the head of state said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that if a person is a professional, a patriot and ready to work, such a person deserves to be well treated. “You cannot 'rattle a saber left and right'. You have to take a thoughtful approach. If we have good workers, we will get results. Moreover, we are talking about high-level managers here. If we have such, there will be results. A good manager is 90% of success in any business. It should be a law and a science for everyone,” the president said.
The head of state is sure that a person should always be given a chance: “One may make a mistake somewhere. Give some time for a person to come to his/her senses. Help him/her if necessary. Talk to those who have worked with this specialist, who knows this person, and only then make a decision. Because people are watching us. If we are going to ‘rattle a saber left and right, cutting off heads', what kind of work will we have? There will be no work. Why would a person need such a job? He or she will be in a stressful situation all the time. Such people will have no family and no job.”
“This is the main thing for you. You are the leaders from today,” the Belarusian leader said.
