China CNR Corporation Limited (CNR) will take part in the establishment of a foundry and carriage works in Belarus. The corresponding agreement between the Chinese corporation and BelAZ has been signed in Beijing, BelTA has learnt.

MTZ and CNR signed an agreement on joint development of electric drives for tractors.

Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Katerinich informed earlier that these projects were discussed during the talks in Beijing on 16 July.

The parties discussed a possibility to set up a railway foundry in the FEZ Mogilev. “CNR is also interested in becoming a shareholder in Mogilev Carriage Works and produce low-temperature tank wagons and carriages for the European Union using Chinese technologies and designs,” the minister said.

The parties also considered a possibility to set up a joint venture to produce electromechanical transmission drives for MTZ and municipal transport.

China CNR Corporation Limited (CNR) is the country’s leading producer of railway equipment and one of the key industry players in the world.

According to the website of Mogilev Carriage Works, the major founding shareholder of the company is BelAZ HOLDING that owns 99% of the shares at Mogilev Carriage Works.
