A project on the development of financial literacy in children has been launched in the Minsk region

In the Minsk region, they launched the project "Entrepreneurial Initiative, Financial Literacy, Modern Education: New Drivers of the Economy", aimed at obtaining economic knowledge, understanding the legal and psychological aspects of entrepreneurship in schoolchildren and kindergartens. BelTA was informed about this in the main education department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

During the current year, a regional part-time business school will operate in the metropolitan region, and educational institutions will host contests, excursions, meet-ups, quests, tournaments, exhibitions and other events.

In particular, preschoolers will be taught to behave correctly in real life situations of an economic nature (for example, to make purchases in a store, to pay for travel in transport), they will be told about credit cards and other banking products. It is planned to teach the correct attitude to money and their rational use, through games to introduce objects, things, human relationships into the complex world, and help to treat advertising wisely.

Students will learn to make a family budget, open bank deposits, choose financial instruments for investing their savings, arrange insurance. Meetings are scheduled with employees of banks and insurance companies.

Separately, the organizers expect to hold events for parents to change their attitude to financial education, to expand their knowledge about money and pedagogical methods of interacting with children.

It is expected that during the project, participants will expand their ideas in the field of personal and family finance, gain critical attitude to any financial information distributed on the Internet or in the media, and recognize the need for a responsible attitude to personal and family finance.

The goal of the project is to engage participants in the educational process in economic activities to form their financial literacy.

The initiator and organizer of the project was the main education department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
