As of 15 August, Belarus harvested some 1.79 million hectares of grain (except for maize, buckwheat and millet), which is 83.7% of the cropping areas. Belarusian farmers harvested almost 5.7 million tonnes of grain, with the average yield of 31.8 centners per hectare (26.7 centners per hectare last year).
Brest Oblast remains a leader with its harvest over 98.7% complete (1,189,000 tonnes of grain). Grodno Oblast has so far harvested 93.9% of its areas (1,147,000 tonnes of grain). Minsk Oblast has harvested 84.7% of its areas, producing 1,466,900 tonnes of grain.
Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 83.5% complete (594,000 tonnes of grain). Mogilev Oblast has harvested 81.1% of its areas, making 640,400 tonnes of grain.
Vitebsk Oblast has cut 60.6% of its areas to produce 659,200 tonnes of grain.
Some 2.162 million hectares was planted with grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) in 2019.
